N2 - Hier soll auf Rudolf Steiners frühe Gedanken zum Begriff der Entwicklung anhand
seiner Auseinandersetzung mit der Organik Goethes und mit dem zeitgenössischen
Darwinismus aufmerksam gemacht werden. Sie sind durch spätere Fortschritte
seiner Erkenntnis weder überholt noch überflüssig geworden: Er hat sie nicht
verlassen, sondern ausdifferenziert und ergänzt. In der prägnanten Weise wie in
den frühen Texten sind sie sonst jedoch in Steiners Werk kaum zu finden. 
N1 - Rudolf Steiner’s early thoughts on the concept of evolution are examined with
examples of his analysis of Goethe’s organics and contemporary Darwinism. His
thoughts were neither overtaken nor rendered superfluous by later advances. He
did not abandon them but instead refined and enlarged them. However, the way
they are succinctly expressed in the early texts is hard to find elsewhere in Steiner’s works.
