Abstract:
A task that Steiner gave in 1920 coincides with contemporary research in both the phenomena discovered and the new starting points. The task was apparently given in order to develop our understanding of the involvement of light with the world of matter. Suggested topics for study are the role of the electromagnetic carrier in light polarisation phenomena as well as the relationship to light of both matter and plant organ structure formation. This could be carried out on photosynthesis and respiration of higher plants or with algae and bacteria. Landesperger’s approach and a technical variant of the Faraday effect in future biological experiments are presented. This is relatively easy to do, but there can be no question of ‘bending the ends of the spectrum together’ with strong fields and currents.
