Abstract:
Historic and current examples show the way of chemistry from dealing with contextual appearances to a stepwise “atomization” by the development of conceptions of the atomic structure of the substances along with the respective experimental and activity-oriented technologies. Atomized chemistry displays a non-sensual aspect of the reality of substances based solely on the prepositions of a thinking in mechanical models, which can be called subnature. Reflecting the scientific cognitive activity can awaken a sense for this transformation of reality. The problematic impacts of applying chemical products in the environment have initiated a re-thinking. Modern approaches intend to envisage broader contexts in producing and applying chemical substances. Chemistry as a conscious design of processes can reunite historically originated relations with future contexts in a meaningful way.
