Abstract:
Each of the different ways colours are formed, whether prismatically, atmospherically or by diffraction, has its own primal phenomenon. But a connection can be found at a higher level between these different ways. A particular gesture is common to each colour in which the interplay of light and dark underlying the colour‘s origin finds its expression. Inspirational qualities can be found in meditative contemplation of this language of gesture – an intensification and deepening of what Goethe called the sensory-moral effect of colours. But for this we must first travel the path of internalising the phenomenon by which we can reach imaginative impressions that point to the way in which each colour is connected with the human organism. This path is described for the different colours and for the ways they are produced. To conclude, a connection with colour therapy is developed in the hope that it will be fruitful in the field of therapy.
