Abstract:
Around a hundred years ago, Rudolf Steiner has pointed out the need to balance life in a more and more technical world by getting deeper involved in artistic activities. It will be shown how this impulse has been interpreted by different artists during the 20th century. The alienation from nature in a technologically dominated everyday life and working process, requires each individual to regard themselves as social works of art and to evoke creative powers. This path is characterised as slow progress.
